“Family Ties” star Michael J. Fox will quit the comedy series if the show’s creator and executive producer leaves as planned next year, TV Guide magazine reported Monday. Gary David Goldberg said in the March 7 issue of the magazine he plans to abandon “Family Ties” when his contract expires in 1988 at the end of the seventh season. “If Gary is gone in 1988, we’ll all be gone,” Fox said in the article. “I, for one, would definitely leave. The show is Gary.”
