Lynwood Girls Are Seeded No. 1

Lynwood High School, the defending champion, was named the top-seeded team in the Southern Section 4-A girls’ basketball pairings announced Monday.
The Knights (26-2) won the San Gabriel Valley League championship and will play host to Canyon of Anaheim in a first-round game Saturday.
Buena of Ventura (22-1), the second-seeded 4-A team and Channel League champion, plays Glendale Hoover. Inglewood Morningside (24-2) is seeded third and faces Don Lugo of Chino. Huntington Beach Edison (25-1) is seeded fourth and plays host to Manhattan Beach Mira Costa.
In 3-A, Louisville of Woodland Hills (20-3), the San Fernando Valley League champion is top-seeded and will play Palmdale. Brea-Olinda (20-4), which won the title last season, is the second-seeded team and plays host to Schurr of Montebello.
Anaheim Katella (23-2) and Mission Viejo (23-2) are the third- and fourth-seeded teams, respectively. Katella plays Redlands and Mission Viejo faces South Torrance.
