WINTER SPORTS HIGHLIGHTS : BOYS BASKETBALL
Canyon 72, Quartz Hill 63--Greg Paskwietz scored 28 points and Jeff White added 22 as Canyon (17-5, 6-1) won its fourth straight Golden League game.
Saugus 67, Antelope Valley 46--Rusty Morse and Greg Weber scored 18 points each for Saugus (15-7, 6-1) in the Golden League game.
Notre Dame 52, Crespi 49--Josh Oppenheimer scored 16 points for Notre Dame (6-12, 5-4) in the Del Rey League game. Crespi senior forward Jason Ringler had a game-high 25 points for Crespi (2-16, 1-8).
Alemany 62, St. John Bosco 40--Senior forward Dave Swanson scored 20 points for Alemany (16-6, 8-2) in the Del Rey League game. Bill Lucid had 14 points for Alemany.
Agoura 54, Nordhoff 52--Senior Craig Duryea’s basket from the top of the key off a steal with two seconds remaining gave Agoura (7-12, 3-2) the win. Duryea had a game-high 28 points.
L.A. Baptist 49, Village Christian 42--Mike Null scored a game-high 15 points and James Hoback had 12 points and 10 rebounds for L.A. Baptist (15-5, 7-3) in the Alpha League game. Scott Farrar led Village Christian (9-9, 5-4) with 13 points.
Faith Baptist 68, Buckley 61--Sophomore Jason Henderson set a school record with 11 blocked shots for Faith Baptist in a Delphic League game. Henderson, a 6-8 center, broke his own record of 10 blocks while adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. Sophomore guard David Hairston had 17 points and eight assists for Faith Baptist (7-10, 4-6).
Campbell Hall 51, Providence 44--In a Delphic League game, Tim Sutton scored 22 points and Donnie Sakaida scored nine on an injured ankle for Campbell Hall (11-5, 7-3). Steve Ross had 17 points for Providence (5-9, 1-8).
Montclair Prep 68, Western Christian 45--Montclair Prep (13-6, 10-0) won the Alpha League game behind Craig Handschu’s 24 points.
Chaminade 49, La Salle 42--Andy Connolly scored 11 points for Chaminade (14-6, 10-1) in the Santa Fe League game.
Bell-Jeff 75, Salesian 48--Sheamus Martin had 15 points and 9 rebounds and Greg Dunn scored 15 points for Bell-Jeff (12-8, 7-4) in the Santa Fe League game.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Simi Valley 84, Camarillo 57--Senior forward Julie Arlotto had 22 points and 12 rebounds for Simi Valley (19-3, 10-0), which won its second straight Marmonte League title and posted its 23rd consecutive league win. Nichole Victoria led Camarillo (10-12, 3-6) with 17 points
Thousand Oaks 47, Westlake 38--Junior forward Kris Pederson scored 19 points for Thousand Oaks (12-10, 7-3). Kaci Salmina led Westlake with 14 points.
Louisville 86, St. Genevieve 38--Louisville won its 26th consecutive San Fernando Valley League game and 12th straight overall behind Lynn Flanagan’s game-high 22 points. Tina Kohler had 17 points for Louisville (16-2, 7-0).
Buckley 45, Campbell Hall 43 (OT)--Laura Kirkpatrick scored a career-high 29 points and had 10 rebounds and 7 steals to lead Buckley (5-9, 4-4), which lost the first time the teams met in Delphic League play by 48 points. Cherise Smith scored 18 for Campbell Hall (10-4, 6-2).
Monroe 41, Poly 32--Annette Robinson scored 19 points and Karen Gohata added 10 as Monroe (7-3, 6-1) won its sixth straight Pac-6 League game. Anna Perez led Poly (0-10, 0-7) with 14 points.
