Chrysler Corp. will owe ABC-TV up to $6 million if the network cannot find another buyer for the commercial time the automaker has canceled on the 14 1/2-hour miniseries “Amerika,” according to the trade journal Advertising Age. The weekly quoted a source close to Chrysler as saying the company will resist paying for any part of the 19-minute commercial block, which the source said was purchased at $150,000 for 30 seconds. The network fears Chrysler’s highly publicized move might hurt its chance to resell the time, the magazine said.
