Vanuatu Leader Rushed to Washington Hospital

WASHINGTON — Prime Minister Walter Lini of the South Pacific nation of Vanuatu, formerly the New Hebrides, was rushed to George Washington University Hospital on Monday with what U.S. officials said was believed to be a cerebral hemorrhage.
The hospital declined comment on his condition. A State Department official said Lini was in stable condition. Lini, an Anglican priest, was here for this week’s National Prayer Breakfast and had planned to meet Monday with Secretary of State George P. Shultz.
