Casket, Minus Corpse, Found in Street

A casket--minus a corpse--provoked a mystery after it was found in the intersection of 95th Street and Golden Avenue in Los Angeles Saturday.
Police Officer Victor Rocha said the metal, olive green coffin appear to have been removed recently from a graveyard. “It smelled like there had been a body in there recently,” he said. “We just don’t know where the body is at.”
The officer, who said the area is one of heavy gang activity, added, “We’re thinking it’s maybe a gang retaliation of sorts.”
