Linebacker Corey Brown, a two-time all-conference pick for Morningside High School in Inglewood, gave a verbal commitment to play for the University of Washington.
The 6-2, 225-pound Brown, a member of the Northwestern Conference team in 1986 and the Desert-Mountain Conference team in 1985, also visited Arizona State and USC.
“I liked both,” he said, “but I don’t want to stay in L.A. and I don’t want to go to the desert.”
