Pros and Cons on Chemotherapy
As a recovered victim of a Stage 3 colon cancer (May, 1980), I found your article positively irresponsible. If it were not for surgery and aggressive chemotherapy, I would not be here to write this letter.
I am now in perfect health and just retired recently from my profession (at age 64). I lead a normal life, and even during the period of chemotherapy I was able to work most of the time.
I saw my son graduate from veterinary school, saw my daughter get married and went to Europe. I lead a normal, active and rewarding life.
If Martin Shapiro would have been my physician, I would not be here to write this letter, and, hopefully, convince some of your readers that you can survive cancer with the proper treatment.
