BROCKVILLE, Canada — A man has successfully sued his mother for negligence after he asked her to dance and she fell on him and broke his ankle.
Charles Knapp, 29, was awarded $9,360 this week in a local district court against the estate of his mother, Shirley Knapp, who died last April.
According to evidence presented in court, Knapp was visiting his parents in July, 1984, when his mother tripped as she got up to dance and fell on him, breaking his ankle.
The judge said she should have looked first before getting up.
