Tremor Jars El Salvador Capital

SAN SALVADOR — An earthquake rattled this Central American capital for about 15 seconds this morning, causing panic among many residents. There were no immediate reports of deaths or injuries.
The quake, which struck at 10:52 a.m., registered 4.0 on the Richter scale, the U.S. Geological Survey said. As the earth began trembling, hundreds of people evacuated buildings--some of them already damaged by a disastrous 7.5 earthquake Oct. 10 that left 1,500 people dead.
