TUCSON — The University of Arizona’s football search had a visible candidate Friday in North Carolina State’s Dick Sheridan. Athletic Director Cedric Dempsey acknowledged that Sheridan was on campus, interviewing for the position.
“He is visiting. He has never been here before. He’s looking at our campus and area, and at the same time we’re taking a look at him,” Dempsey said before Sheridan returned home. “We reviewed the candidates that have been in thus far and those that I met with off-campus. At this time, we plan additional interviews on campus.”
Earlier, Ohio State’s Earle Bruce and Boston College’s Jack Bicknell, had been interviewed but decided against being candidates for the job.
