Japanese Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone will appeal to three East European nations to participate in the 1988 Summer Olympics in South Korea during a trip to Europe next month, according to an article in the Tokyo Shimbum.
Nakasone is scheduled to visit East Germany, Poland and Yugoslavia, in addition to Finland. The newspaper, quoting government sources, said Nakasone will urge the three nations to participate in the Seoul Olympics to help ease tension on the Korean peninsula.
