Soviet Car Burned in Protest

THE HAGUE — A Soviet Embassy car was set afire today in a protest against the Soviet Union’s intervention in Afghanistan, police said.
Nobody was injured in the fire that occurred in the early morning hours in a residential district near the Soviet Embassy. A Dutch man, who was arrested on suspicion of arson, told police he was protesting the Soviet military deployment in Afghanistan. Soviet troops entered Afghanistan on Dec. 27, 1979.
