A Hawthorne man was killed Saturday when the truck he was driving rolled over on Interstate 5 north of Del Mar Heights Road.
Thanh Huu Nguyen, 26, died of head injuries at UC San Diego Medical Center at 7:53 p.m. Nguyen suffered skull fractures and head bruises when he was partially thrown from the tractor-trailer truck he was driving as it rolled three times on the shoulder of northbound I-5.
A California Highway Patrol spokesman said Nguyen was in stop-and-go traffic when the truck’s brakes locked.
