The Atlantic Richfield Co. on Friday gave $10,000 to a San Fernando Valley program to prevent teen-age drunk driving.
The company made the donation to Valley Safe Rides, which is sponsored by the Los Angeles chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving. The group has provided free rides home to more than 3,200 teen-agers in the past three years, said Barbara Bloomberg, director of education for the local MADD chapter.
Valley Safe Rides is one of nearly 20 such volunteer groups in the Los Angeles area, Bloomberg said.
