Fifteen men and one woman were arrested Friday night by undercover Los Angeles police officers conducting a prostitution sweep in Van Nuys, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The three-hour sweep, covering Sepulveda Boulevard between Archwood and Hatteras streets in Van Nuys, was part of a continuing police effort to curb prostitution along the boulevard, Sgt. Alfonso Rodriguez said.
The men were arrested by female undercover officers on suspicion of soliciting them to perform sex acts, Rodriguez said, and the woman was arrested by a male officer posing as a would-be customer.
