Officials Able to Identify Body

Skeletal remains found by a transient in the Santa Monica Mountains have been identified as those of a West Los Angeles woman who disappeared almost two years ago.

The woman, Lisa Ann Mather, 18, was reported missing Jan. 15, 1985, by her mother, Los Angeles Police Detective Howard Landgren said.

She was last seen three days earlier in front of the Whiskey-a-Go-Go on Sunset Boulevard, where she was talking to a man with long brown hair, Landgren said.

The unburied body was found in the brush about 9 a.m. Wednesday by 26-year-old Paul Yettaw, a Canadian seeking a place to camp in a wooded area north of Mulholland Drive and west of Coldwater Canyon Boulevard in Studio City, police said.
