Green, Rutledge Share Sanders Award as Bruins’ Most Valuable Players in ’86

Junior tailback Gaston Green and senior strong safety Craig Rutledge were named co-recipients of the Henry R. (Red) Sanders Award as UCLA’s most valuable players for the 1986 football season Wednesday night at the team’s annual awards-dinner dance at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Center Joe Goebel and nose guard Terry Tumey shared the Paul I. Wellman Award for all-around excellence.
