Azusa : Council to Meet Earlier
The City Council has approved a resolution moving its meeting time to 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Monday of each month, beginning next week.
The meetings will return the the usual 7:30 p.m. start at the end of April, when Daylight Saving Time goes back into effect, City Clerk Adolph Solis said.
The council voted 3 to 2 to change the meeting time, with Lucio Cruz, James Cook and Jennie Avila voting in favor of the resolution and Eugene Moses and Bruce Latta against.
Cruz said he suggested the change because it gets darker earlier during the winter and changing the time might encourage more people to attend council meetings.
Moses and Latta said they opposed the change because people are accustomed to the 7:30 meetings.
