4.1 Quake on Japan Island

TOKYO — An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale shook Oshima island, about 70 miles south of Tokyo, on Tuesday. It was the strongest of more than 124 tremors reported since a volcano erupted there Saturday. No injuries were reported, but houses were shaken and vases toppled.
