Frank Sinatra was released from the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage a week after undergoing emergency abdominal surgery. Sinatra, 70, cut short a performance in Atlantic City, N.J., and flew back to California, where he was admitted to the hospital Nov. 7. He underwent two hours of abdominal surgery for acute diverticulitis. Doctors removed a 12-inch section of his large intestine in an operation they said was “routine.” He will continue his recovery at his desert home and was described by his publicist as being in good spirits.
