An evergreen tree atop the Embassy Suites hotel in La Jolla framework marked the topping-out of the 12-story building.
The 300,000-square-foot hotel is about one month ahead of schedule, according to John M. Wainwright, project manager for general contractor, McDevitt & Street Co. Plans call for the hotel to be completed on June 1, about two months ahead of schedule.
Construction costs are estimated at $18 million. Buss, Silvers Hughes & Associates of San Diego is architect.
