A Pat on the Back

On behalf of the member-doctors of the Los Angeles County Chiropractic Society, I express our appreciation of the fine job done by Allan Parachini in his Oct. 28 article, “Help for the Sufferers of Those Aching Backs.”
The subject was obviously well researched and Parachini was quite meticulous in not expressing any bias for or against any individual health care profession involved in the treatment of this all-too-common human ailment.
Musculoskeletal problems such as lower back injuries are a specialty of the chiropractic doctor, and we recognize that medical orthopedists and osteopathic doctors also have expertise in that area. I know they join us in encouraging people to be more careful in such activities and lifting, bending and stretching, and to be aware of preventive measures and exercises to strengthen our too-fragile backs.
