BBC Denies Bias on Libya Raid

LONDON — The British Broadcasting Corp. today rejected Conservative Party charges that its television coverage of the U.S. bombing raid on Libya was inaccurate and biased against the British and American governments.
The BBC, in a 24-page, line-by-line denial of charges leveled by the Conservative Party, acknowledged only one mistake in the Libya coverage. The corporation said it was “wrong and ill-advised” to report that an April 17 attempt to place a bomb on an El Al airliner at London’s Heathrow Airport was revenge for the raid on Libya two days earlier.
