Wynette to Enter Drug Center

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Singer Tammy Wynette has canceled her appearances for the rest of the year and will enter the Betty Ford Center to battle a dependence on prescription drugs, a spokesman announced today.
Wynette, whose hits include “D-I-V-O-R-C-E” and “Stand By Your Man,” will enter the Ford Center near Palm Springs today and will remain there about six weeks, her publicist, Kent Arwood, said.
