USA Weekend hit Hollywood the other day with 15 reporters and 10 photogs covering 70 locations for what coordinating editor Julia Wallace calls “the most complicated ‘Day in the Life’ we’ve done.” The spread’s due Feb. 1 for Tinseltown’s 100th birthday.
Much of the crew was composed of local free-lancers, but the Sunday section also sent five staffers.
Among subjects: Jane Fonda’s Workout, breakfast with rich and famous Robin Leach, Spago, the Polo Lounge, Tom Cruise’s new Walk of Fame star, feature film and TV production, etc.
For all the personpower involved, said Wallace, other “Day in the Life” projects have needed more--50 for Liberty Weekend and 40 for last year’s Super Bowl.
