Design for Degradation?

Re “The Design for Living in Los Angeles” by Sam Hall Kaplan, Oct. 4: Sam, you’re sick. What L.A. has become is an increasingly congested city with good residential neighborhoods destroyed by traffic and smog. Its hallmark is instability and consequent degradation.
But I suppose that after New York City, anything looks good.
