Federal agents broke up an interstate gun-running ring that sold hundreds of weapons in the New York area during the last year, authorities said. Robert Creighton, special agent in charge of the investigation for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, said squads in Virginia and New York raided apartments over the weekend and arrested six people. The ring purchased cheap weapons in Virginia and Florida, where they are easy to buy because of lax identification and licensing laws and then sold them in New York.
