San Diego Soccer : Faro Leads USD Past Cal State L.A., 3-1

SAN DIEGO — Art Faro scored a goal and assisted on two others Saturday as the University of San Diego soccer team beat Cal State Los Angeles, 3-1. USD (13-2) took a 1-0 lead in on a goal by Chris Duke. Bo Kaemerle scored for USD early in the second half.
Gary Botha scored two goals and Per Ola Linkvist had two assists to lead United States International University to a 4-1 victory at Loyola Marymount. Andy Walker and Jon Sissons also scored for the Gulls (5-3-1). Dave Dufault scored for Loyola Marymount, which suffered its 10th loss in as many matches.
Heather Mauro and Lynn Bailey each scored three goals to lead the UC San Diego women’s team to a 9-0 victory over Whittier College. Teresa Schwarr scored two goals and Felicia Faro one for UCSD (12-3-4).
