Texas Air Corp. advanced $10 million to cash-starved People Express, averting a possible loan default that might have sunk the no-frills carrier before Texas Air could complete a buyout. People Express used the money from its merger partner to make a $13.4-million interest payment due Wednesday to two trusts set up for its lenders, company spokesman Russell Marchetta said.
