Colorado Memories
Particularly amused by Jerry Hulse’s item in Tips Sept. 21 on Colorado and the advice concerning an old-time hotel in Silverton. Yes, a good choice of the Grand Imperial at $35/$46.
But let us go back to 1947. That was the time to visit. On a summer trip a friend and I drove a sweet little Ford sedan purchased shortly after we got out of the Army and Air Force. It did marvels on a 5,964-mile trip from Los Angeles up the coast to Victoria, across to Vancouver and up the Fraser River, then over to Kootenay Lake, down into Idaho, Yellowstone, the Jackson Hole country, down into Colorado. Those are memories to cherish.
