Quarterback Ricky Lopez of Franklin threw a 24-yard touchdown to Eric York midway through the second quarter. Armando Toscano added the conversion to give Franklin a 7-0 lead. . . . Early in the fourth quarter Jon Thompson hit Daryle Smith with a 15-yard scoring strike. Franklin’s York blocked the extra-point attempt which would have tied the game. . . . Midway through the fourth quarter, Taft’s Donald Dozier returned an interception 25 yards for an apparent touchdown, but the score was nullified by a clipping penalty at the 5-yard line.
