Local News in Brief : Sherman Oaks Woman Dies After Collision
A Sherman Oaks woman died late Wednesday after her car was struck by one driven by an intoxicated teen-ager, Los Angeles police said.
The woman, Teresa Skinner, 47, was driving west on San Fernando Mission Boulevard in Granada Hills at about 7:15 p.m. when her car collided with a car making a left turn onto Balboa Boulevard, Sgt. Dennis Zine said.
Skinner was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, where she died from internal injuries, Zine said.
The other driver, a 17-year-old Granada Hills boy, was taken to Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Panorama City for treatment of a broken leg, police said.
The teen-ager was intoxicated and speeding at the time of the accident and police will ask that he be charged with felony vehicular manslaughter, Zine said.
