Largent, Joiner Are in Spotlight in Tonight’s Game
SEATTLE — Seattle’s Steve Largent and San Diego’s Charlie Joiner can set NFL pass-catching records tonight when the Seahawks and Chargers meet.
Joiner, the leading receiver in NFL history with 724 catches, has 11,816 receiving yards and needs only 19 more yards to surpass Don Maynard’s record of 11,834.
Largent, meanwhile, is tied with Harold Carmichael for the most consecutive games with at least one reception at 127 games. One catch against the Chargers will give Largent the record.
San Diego quarterback Dan Fouts will start, although he suffered a broken nose in a 17-13 loss to the Raiders at the Coliseum last Sunday. Seattle is 3-1; San Diego 1-3.
