NEW YORK — CBS Evening News anchor Dan Rather was recuperating at home Sunday after being chased, beaten and kicked by two men as he walked along Park Avenue, a network official said.
During the attack Saturday night, Rather fled into a Park Avenue building where a doorman pulled the two well-dressed attackers off him, police said. Their motive was unclear.
A decision on whether Rather will return to work tonight has not yet been made, CBS spokeswoman Ramona Dunn said.
