On the eve of his 17th birthday, Vincent Todd Carraway of Inglewood was killed in South Los Angeles after a gunman, riding a motor scooter, shot him several times, police said. Carraway was sitting in a car at 220 E. 88th Place when the assailant rode up on his scooter, walked over to the victim and fired his weapon several times before fleeing, said Los Angeles Police Detective Jerry Alford. Carraway died at Martin Luther King Jr. Medical Center. Police said they do not know if the incident was gang related. Two of Carraway’s brothers say they are gang members, but deny that the victim belonged to a gang, Alford said.
