Redevelopment of the city’s downtown and pier areas will be the subject of a special session of the Redevelopment Agency tonight at City Hall.
The City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in Room B-8 at the Civic Center, 2000 Main St., to discuss “the status of projects within the Main-Pier Redevelopment Project Area,” city officials said.
Plans for the area call for a widened pier with space for additional shops and restaurants and hotels, apartments and office buildings in the adjacent downtown area.
The seven-member City Council, which acts as the city’s Redevelopment Agency, also will meet in closed session after the 6 p.m. meeting to plan strategy for negotiations with developers and property owners.
