Construction has started on the $65-million City Tower project, a new 20-story structure at 333 City Blvd. West in Orange, reportedly the tallest building in central Orange County.
Tishman West and Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. have joined to construct City Tower, planned for occupancy in late 1987, adding to the eight existing office buildings, mall, theaters and Doubletree Hotel currently centered in the city.
Tishman West, the largest diversified commercial developer in California, is ranked 13th largest nationally among privately owned firms and is currently developing and managing more than 17 million square feet of commercial and retail space throughout the West. Metropolitan Life has more than $800 million in real-estate investments in the Los Angeles area alone.
