The University of Maryland is conducting an investigation of Lefty Driesell to help Chancellor John B. Slaughter determine whether Driesell should remain as the school’s basketball coach, the Washington Post reported.
Slaughter told the Post that Francis Stark, retired provost of the university’s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, has been interviewing people on campus about the basketball program. Although Slaughter would not say what Stark is asking, sources said he is seeking information about Driesell and his dealings with his players.
Slaughter said Stark had interviewed about a dozen persons.
