CORONA — One man was killed and another seriously injured Tuesday morning when their small pickup trucks collided head-on in northern Corona, police said.
Mark Lessard, 18, of Corona was driving west on River Road, near Lincoln Avenue, when he drifted into the eastbound lane and collided with an oncoming truck.
Lessard was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at Corona Community Hospital, said Sgt. Henry Aja, head of the Corona Police Department’s traffic division. Lessard had suffered head, chest and possible neck injuries.
The driver of the other pickup, 39-year-old Robert Monroe of Corona, was in stable condition Tuesday evening at Riverside General Hospital. He suffered internal injuries, a broken right hip and ankle, and facial cuts, Aja said.
