Woodbridge Wins Volleyball Title

Woodbridge High School defeated Newport Harbor, 15-6, 16-14, Saturday to win the girls’ volleyball Orange County Championships at Westminster High School.
Dana Hills beat Marina, 15-11, for third place and Huntington Beach beat Sunny Hills, 15-5, in the consolation match.
Mindy Adams of Woodbridge was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Rachel Vetter (Dana Hills), Dawn Charroin (Marina), Jenny Guans (Newport Harbor), Sara Allison (Newport Harbor), Allison Mattox (Woodbridge) and Laura Newman (Woodbridge) were named to the all-tournament team. Steve Stratos, of Woodbridge, was named top coach.
