Carson Scores Two Goals to Lead Kings to 5-4 Exhibition Victory Over Canucks
Rookie Jimmy Carson scored two goals Saturday night as the Kings opened the National Hockey League exhibition season with a 5-4 victory over the Vancouver Canucks at Victoria, Canada.
Carson, the Kings’ No. 1 draft choice, scored the game-winning goal at 12:51 of the third period. Luc Robitaille, another rookie, had tied the score for the Kings earlier in the third period. Also scoring for the Kings were Brian Erickson and Morris Luckowich.
The teams will meet again tonight in Duncan, B.C.
