One man was killed when Pakistani security forces opened fire on curfew violators who burned old tires and attacked religious buildings in Lahore as clashes continued between Muslim sects, police said. So far, 11 people have died in two days of violence between majority Sunni and minority Shia Muslims in several Pakistani towns. An army-supervised curfew was imposed after the outbreak of violence. It was the worst sectarian clash in Lahore, Pakistan’s second biggest city, in recent years. So far, 80 people have been arrested for curfew violations.
