College Roundup : UCLA Beats UC Irvine in Soccer, 2-0

Tom Silvas scored twice in the second half Wednesday to lead the fifth-ranked UCLA men’s soccer team to a 2-0 victory over UC Irvine in a nonconference match played at Westwood. UCLA improved to 3-0-2; the Anteaters dropped to 2-3.

In other nonconference soccer action:

Cal State Fullerton 0, Portland 0--Titan goalie Bobby Ammann had six saves and Pilot goalie Greg Mass had 11 saves as the teams played to a scoreless tie on Titan Field. Fullerton is 1-1-2 and Portland is 2-1-1.
