Affordable Housing
It’s a shame that the Glendale Redevelopment Agency vote affirming Glendale’s affordable-housing shortage will be clouded by what will surely be one of the most moronic and divisive debates of all time . . . “What is a (real) Glendalian?”
In a fast fall from grace, the City Council has voted to provide funds for housing opportunity, and then immediately directed the city attorney to investigate loopholes to limit occupancy.
There is a contradiction when, with one side of the mouth redevelopment is touted as Glendale’s bold step forward into the outer world, while, with the other side, our leaders espouse the old ways of fear, false pride and discrimination.
