At Least, UCLA Coach Won’t Have to Worry About No. 1 Ranking
Last week, the following quote was attributed to Terry Donahue: “At UCLA, the goal is not to win a national title, win 10 games or beat Oklahoma. The goals of ’86 are the same as those of every season--win the conference and beat USC.”
As a Bruin alumnus, I have to ask how can our basketball program be satisfied with anything less than a national championship while the football program is content to aspire to no more than the ersatz glory of a victory over a patsy Big Ten team in the Rose Bowl each year?
