The North Orange County Community College District has approved a $161,383 contract to install energy-efficient lighting on the Fullerton and Cypress campuses, a spokesperson for the district said.
Designed to save energy and to open areas of the campuses to evening classes, exterior lighting will be installed at Fullerton College around a parking lot and on the grounds of the horticulture department, said Carol Goold, a public information officer with the district. The contract, awarded by the district board of trustees Aug. 26, also calls for lighting to be replaced in classrooms, gymnasiums and locker-rooms on both campuses, said Dick Mersereau, account specialist for Christenson Lighting Services.
The Anaheim-based firm will begin work on the contract in October, Mersereau said.
