Eddie Adams, 25, a former University of Alabama basketball star, died Sunday in a pre-dawn automobile accident when the car he was driving veered off a state highway and he was thrown from the vehicle, authorities in Montgomery, Ala., said.
Adams, a guard, played in 98 Alabama games and was a starter in 47. As a freshman, he was selected to the 1978 Sugar Bowl all-tournament team after scoring 28 points and leading the Crimson Tide to the championship over Virginia.
