How did Calendar and Robert Hilburn ever induce the normally reclusive and camera-shy Don Johnson to submit to a front-page feature on the very eve of his first album’s release (“Don Johnson: Yes, He Can Really Sing,” Aug. 24)?

You must have overcome considerable resistance within CBS Records’ publicity department, since only 10,000 other publications were officially authorized to memorialize this historic event during the past week.
