NMR Centers Inc. said it has completed plans to build a $4.8-million diagnostic imaging facility in Toms River, N.J.
The Newport Beach concern said it expects the Ocean Medical Imaging Center to be operational in the spring of 1987. NMR said it expects the center to generate annual revenues of about $5 million.
The center will be equipped with a magnetic resonance imaging system, which helps physicians diagnose internal ailments without X-rays. In addition, the center will have X-ray equipment and computerized tomography equipment, or CT scanners, which produce cross-sectional images.
NMR operates three diagnostic imaging centers and has four others in addition to Toms River under development.
“Outpatient diagnostic service is one of the most rapidly growing areas in medicine today,” said S. Lewis Meyer, president.
For the first half, the company posted a net loss of $672,000 on revenue of $1.8 million.
